Financial Forums to Educate Ministries about Key Changes

BREA, California—How do those who oversee the finances at Christian churches, schools, mission sending agencies, and other ministries stay informed about key changes that affect their ministries? One way is to gather with peers and learn from experts about the latest legislative, leadership, fundraising, and banking changes.

Once again, Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU) and CapinCrouse LLP and are teaming up for an annual event that addresses these key issues. The 2012 Financial Forum for Ministries will be offered in four locations this November and December:

  • November 6 at Liberty Station Conference Center in San Diego, California

  • November 7 at Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore, California

  • November 8 at ECCU in Brea, California

  • December 4 at Every Home for Christ in Colorado Springs, Colorado

These events attract hundreds of ministry leaders by bringing together industry experts like John Thornton, professor and Leung Chair of Accounting Ethics at Azusa Pacific University, and John Butler, attorney and tax counsel with CapinCrouse.1

“These are experts in their fields who are at the forefront of changes that could affect our ministries,” said past attendee Jim Clark, pastor of business and stewardship at First Evangelical Free Church Fullerton in California. “The material presented goes deep, but is always done in a format that we can easily apply.”

Presenter David Lee, a ministry development officer with ECCU, says that the forums also provide a unique opportunity to learn from others. “Those who attend can talk with ministry peers who deal with the same issues they deal with every day.” Lee will speak about “How and Why to Align Your Ministry’s Money and Mission.”
