ECCU Joins Wide Range of Experts Presenting at CLA 2013 National Conference

BREA, California—When the Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA) 2013 National Conference begins next month, ministry leaders from across the country and beyond will be gathered in Anaheim, California, for one primary purpose—to explore what it means to lead authentically. Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU) will join experts from a wide range of disciplines to make this purpose a reality.

During the three-day event (April 30–May 2), ECCU will present two educational sessions:

Advanced Budgeting.
Here ministry leaders will learn to more accurately project revenue, better align money with mission, and use their budgets to stay on mission. Presenters will be: Caryn Ryan, managing member of Missionwell LLC; and Mark Jones, vice president and senior banking consultant with ECCU.

How to Increase Giving to Your Ministry.
At this panel discussion, leaders will learn to identify which income-generating approaches are effective for their ministries, to more clearly communicate their ministries’ stories, and to manage financial resources in ways that free up more for ministry. Panelists include: Bob Ball, senior vice president and executive creative director with Masterworks; Griff Freyschlag, vice president of development for the Denver Rescue Mission; and Lorraine Mazza, managing director of development for Joni & Friends International Disability Center. Mike Boblit, an ECCU regional director, will moderate the discussion.

ECCU will also host an invitation-only luncheon featuring an interview with Robert Lawless, CFO of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. He’ll talk about how to manage ministry money better, including how Harvest has responded to specific financial management challenges. Those attending this luncheon will be eligible to win an iPad©, as will conference attendees who register at ECCU’s booth in the exhibit hall. (For the complete Official Rules*, visit
