ECCU Celebrates 50 Years of God's Faithfulness

The Financial Institution, Which Fuels Christ-Centered Ministry Worldwide, Gives Its Members The Opportunity To “Put Their Money Where Their Heart Is” And Employees To Build Camaraderie.

BREA, Calif., December 1, 2014 — Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU) commemorated its 50th anniversary by holding a staff celebration event at its Brea campus headquarters.  Approximately 375 employees and their family members attended the festivities, which included food trucks serving pizza, tri-tip and tacos; a dunk tank, a roving magician, face painting and a bounce house.

ECCU’s more than 8,000 members earn great interest rates and benefit from sage financial advice based on Biblical principles. They also know that their savings are used to support Evangelical Christian ministries, with ECCU providing ministry grants, reduced international banking fees for missionaries, and support for short- and long-term missionaries. According to ECCU CEO Mark Holbrook, “I believe we’ve been successful over our half century of service due to our shared passion for spreading the gospel around the world.”

ECCU continues to grow and develop new financial services and products to benefit its members. Recent accomplishments include:

  • Expanding its personal banking services to better address the evolving financial needs of members by introducing a direct savings account and a high-yield certificate, both with competitive rates.
  • Recruiting commercial banking veterans Abel Pomar and Robert McDougall to chart the bank’s development of retail consumer products and services
  • Launching a newly redesigned website to provide easier access to account services and resources.
