Mr. Van Elliott
Board of Director Nominee
Van Elliott began serving on ECCU’s Board of Directors in 1988. He has served on the Finance Committee, the Board Development and Nominating Committee, and the Compensation Committee. He has been the Board Secretary and is currently the Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Elliott is a present board member and Secretary for Ministry Partners Investment Company, LLC.
He is a past member of ECCU’s Supervisory Committee.
Mr. Elliott is the Director of Financial Foundations, an organization that provides financial and administrative consulting for churches, Christian schools and camps.
As an ordained minister, for 14 years he was the Associate Director of Conservative Baptist Association of Southern California, providing professional guidance to churches and pastors in all areas of church operations, fundraising and finance.
Prior to that, he served for 10 years as Executive Pastor of First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles. He presently serves as Pastoral Assistant for Congregational Care, Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church, Lakeside, CA.
Mr. Elliott received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees in mathematical statistics and communication, respectively, from Purdue University, and a Master of Divinity degree from Denver Seminary.
He holds a Professional Designation of Certified Financial Planner and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Ms. Holly Culhane
Board of Director Nominee
Holly Culhane joined ECCU’s Board of Directors in 2010. She serves as the Chair of the Board Development and Moninating Committee.
Ms. Culhane is Founder and CEO of Presence Point, Inc., a ministry focused on developing and supporting shepherd leaders in all walks of life all over the world. She and her husband, Doug, facilitate workshops and publish weekly blogs with the simple goal of helping people live into their calling as shepherds wherever they influence. Holly is also Consultant Emeritus with P∙A∙S Associates, an HR consulting firm she formed in 1987. She and Doug enthusiastically travel both throughout the US and internationally to share the shepherd leadership message.
Holly’s professional and community involvements have included serving as Chair of the Board of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, as well as its Political Action Committee, and as Chair of International Christian Ministries. She is a prior Board member of the Rotary Club of Bakersfield and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for Youth for Christ/USA.
Holly and her husband, Doug, have led or participated in 20+ short-term mission trips to various parts of the world. They love to travel and explore the world together and especially enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren – the best part of growing old. They currently reside in Grass Valley, California.
Mr. Graham Crain
Board of Director Nominee
Mr. Crain began serving on ECCU’s Board of Directors in 2018.
He is a principal and managing partner at Anderson-Crain Investment Group (ACIG), a multi-family and commercial real estate leader in Central Kansas. He is primarily responsible for overseeing ACIG’s multi-family real estate acquisition and development, investor and lender relations, and overall company growth. Prior to ACIG, Mr. Crain worked in administration in higher education.
Mr. Crain earned his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Nazarene College, where he was involved with Athletes in Action Baseball. He also holds a master’s degree from Kansas State University.
Mr. Crain is highly involved in his community. He is the past president for the Young Professionals of McPherson and is a graduate of the 2013 Class of Leadership McPherson. He and his family reside in McPherson, KS.
Mr. Mike Painter
Supervisory Committee Nominee
Mr. Painter was appointed to the Supervisory Committee in 2016.
In February 2018, Mr. Painter began serving on the audit committee for Dallas International University.
He has worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 2002. He is currently the Controller at the SIL International Office in Dallas, TX. He and his wife worked with Wycliffe in Brazil from 2003‐2014, facilitating Bible translation through finance and administrative services. Prior to Wycliffe Bible Translators, he worked as an auditor for a national accounting firm serving not‐for‐profit ministries.
Mr. Painter expects to complete his Master's in Business Administration from Hope International University in Fullerton, CA in December 2019 and holds a BS in Business Administration from Biola University in La Mirada, CA.
