Brea, CA - July 13, 2020 - ECCU announced today that Kendall Benson has been promoted to Vice President, Credit Manager, effective July 13, 2020. Reporting to ECCU Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer Susan Rushing, Benson will lead all aspects of the credit approval process, loan portfolio management, credit information analysis and all policies and procedures required to ensure the overall quality of the credit union’s lending portfolio.
Benson has filled several key roles since coming to ECCU in 2012, most recently Director of Credit Administration, where his responsibilities included the department’s budget, credit quality forecast and tracking, and staff training and development. Prior roles included Manager, Credit Risk Analytics and Assistant Vice President, Secondary Markets.

Kendall is highly collaborative and an innovative problem solver with tremendous stamina and perseverance. It became increasingly evident that he was the ideal candidate for the role.”
Before coming to ECCU, Benson was an Assistant Vice President with Union Bank, where he oversaw financing for large-scale corporate and public utility projects, including thermal and solar generation projects, independent power producers, mining companies and other infrastructure-related businesses.
Benson holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Biola University.
