Frank Sommerville

Attorney and CPA

Frank Sommerville is a shareholder in the law firm of Weycer, Kaplan, Pulaski & Zuber, P.C., in Houston and Dallas, Texas. He received his masters in professional accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. His law degree is from the University of Houston Law Center.

Mr. Sommerville has served nonprofit institutions of all sizes as a bookkeeper, accountant, auditor, tax advisor and advocate, litigator and legal advisor. He has presented seminars on nonprofit taxation since 1981. He regularly assists churches in preventing litigation, including those that originate with accusations of sexual misconduct.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, The State Bar of Texas (Chairman of the Nonprofit Corporation Subcommittee), Christian Legal Society, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). For the TSCPA, he served on the “Relations with IRS” committee for three years.

Due to his significant contributions to the church administration profession, he was inducted into the NACBA Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, The Church Report named Mr. Sommerville as one of the 50 most influential Christians in America.

Mr. Sommerville resides in Dallas, Texas, and has served on the boards of various nonprofit organizations from United Way agencies to his local church.
