Ministries Are Committed to Improving Their Financial Management

BREA, California—How interested do you think ministry leaders are in staying abreast of legislative, tax, accounting, and banking changes that affect their ministries? Based on attendance at the recent 2011 Financial Forums for Ministries, the answer is very interested.

Nearly 400 executive pastors and other ministry financial decision makers attended this year’s four Forums, which were presented by Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU) and CapinCrouse LLP. This is a 25 percent increase over last year.

It helps when you have people like Dan Busby presenting. Dan is president of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). His annual legislative update at the Brea, California Forum always resonates with attendees.

And ECCU Ministry Development Officer David Lee’s session again earned high marks on post event evaluations. He talked about “How to Measure and Communicate the Financial Health of Your Ministry,” and did a panel discussion with several ministry leaders.

If you weren’t able to attend one of this year’s Forums, you can access videos of select presentations and other related resources, including an exclusive video interview with Dan Busby. To do so, visit www.eccu.org/resources-2011forums.
